What is life coaching anyway?
Neil Asher, a life coach, entrepreneur and the original founder of New Insights Life Coaching, summed it up beautifully when he said:
“Life coaching is a solution-focussed approach to personal development aimed at helping you make significant and lasting changes in all areas of your life through the use of specific tools and scientifically tested techniques that work. Life coaching will help you realise your true potential by taking you through a process to uncover and then eliminate obstructive and destructive behavioural and thinking patterns in your life. The process is conducted in a thoroughly supportive, caring and inspirational environment.”
What do you mean when you say you turn worriers into warriors?
If you can’t seem to escape the exhausting weight of worry crushing the joy and fulfillment from your life, I’ve been there and I can absolutely relate. I’m passionate about helping worriers discover and bring out their own inner warrior. I can help you overcome fear, worry and adversity by helping you to live more mindfully, be kinder to yourself and make positive changes in your life. I aim to bring my own unique perspective, practical approach, honesty and empathy to each session to ensure that you feel encouraged, safe and gently but firmly challenged to grow.
Most people who meet me assume that having a disability – severe visual impairment – must be the biggest lifelong struggle I have had to face. The truth is that worry, not my disability, was the biggest, baddest, nastiest thing that tormented me from as early as I can remember – until I finally learned to manage and overcome it.
My disability continuously creates obstacles to be overcome, but I have never let it stop me from chasing my dreams and doing the things I love. Worry was a different story though… it slowly took over my life, morphing into fear and then into an anxiety disorder and panic attacks. Worry, in it’s most extreme form, was the thing that eventually ended up stopping me in my tracks. After incessantly searching for answers, seeing a great therapist and applying every coping skill I had learned over the years, terror subsided back into fear and then back into worry. It wasn’t until I worked with an amazing life coach though, that all the puzzle pieces finally fitted together and I learned that everything I needed to overcome fear, worry and adversity was inside me all along.
Throughout my life I have felt called to use my experiences, love of learning and empathy to make a difference in some way. I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer as a therapeutic horse riding instructor, a cub scout leader and a depression and anxiety support group facilitator over the years. When I discovered the difference I could make as a life coach though – I knew without a doubt that that was the career path I wanted to take. By the grace of God I now walk alongside worriers and empower them so that they can discover their own inner warrior.

What are the fees for sessions?
- Session fees after the free initial “get to know each other” session are R350 per session for clients in South Africa. Please contact me for pricing if you are outside South Africa.
- The free initial “get to know each other” session (+-30min) is not a coaching session, but rather an opportunity to gain an understanding of your expectations, clarify my role and answer any and all questions you might have. You can get an idea of what to expect, what my coaching style is and if you would like to continue on with me as your coach. There is no obligation to continue after this free session.
- You are welcome to ask me any and all questions you might have via e-mail before setting up a session with me. I understand that as a worrier, you may need a great deal of certainty before stepping into something new.
How long are the sessions and how often do they take place?
- Coaching sessions are conducted via Skype (voice only) every week / two weeks depending on your needs, and will run for 60-90min.
- I am available to coach outside business hours and on weekends if this better suits your needs. I have a booking calendar which will allow you to choose time slots that work for you.
